sydneyRecently established Hong Kong-based funds management advisory and placement agent Diamond Dragon Advisors is to be represented in Australia by managing director Alexander Edwards. Mr Edwards, who is responsible for Australasia and SouthEast Asia, is to set up an office in Sydney. Mr Edwards was previously with placement agency CP Eaton Partners where he was responsible for business development across the Asia Pacific region, specifically Australasia and Southern Asia. He began his career with MLC in Sydney. Diamond Dragon Advisors also has an office in Shanghai. Founder and chairman of Diamond Dragon, Ed Greene said the firm is the first Asia-headquartered general partner (GP) advisory and placement firm in the alternative assets space which has global reach in both distribution and product sourcing. Mr Greene, who was formerly a partner with CP Eaton Partners, said he expected Asia Pacific, led by China and India, to now be the fastest growing region. He had established Diamond Dragon Advisors to take first mover advantage in the Asian region.

Diamond Dragon Advisors plans to work with, and help to develop, top tier general partners (GPs) in the alternative investments space across private equity, real estate, real assets and hedge funds, he said. The firm is licensed by the Hong Kong Securities and Futures Commission. Diamond Dragon Advisors has alliances with London-based fund placement agency Threadmark, founded by Anne Gales and Bruce Chapman, and US-based Madison Williams Private Capital Solutions founded by Jim McCarvill. All three worked with Mr Greene at C.P. Eaton Partners.
